El Parral El Parral is our local favorite spot, and you'll find it at 113 Lois Ln. They're open from 11am until 9:30pm most of the week, though on Sunday, they close a little earlier at 9pm. They have a great buffet, cheese dip you can't stop eating, and the best homemade guac. They're always really busy, too, which is a good thing. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Their brunch is every day from 11am until 3pm, and kids under 3 eat free. Kids up to 6 eat at half price, too. On Taco Tuesday, their tacos are only $1.50 for chicken or ground beef, hard or soft. If you go at other times, be sure to try the shrimp soup, the delicious nachos with crab meat, and any of their sizzling fajitas. more Cazuelas Mexican Restaurant & Cantina You can visit Cazuelas Mexican Restaurant & Cantina any time from 11:30am until 10pm Tuesday through Saturday and until 8pm on Sunday and Monday. You'll find them at 8134 E Broad St in Reynoldsburg. There's always great food here, and the service is top-notch. The atmosphere is fun and lively, and they have simply spectacular margaritas. If you enjoy those, please do so responsibly and never drink and drive. Their lunch menu is great, and you should definitely order some of their soup or the Cazuela's bowl if you go at lunch. At dinner time, be sure to try the Mucho Macho Burrito, which is a foot-long burrito with rice, refried beans, extra-hot sauce, and your choice of grilled chicken or steak. It's also topped with an enormously spicy hot sauce: if you can finish this thing in 20 minutes, it's free. Puerto Vallarta At 100 Emswiler Way, you'll find another local favorite. Puerta Vallarta is open from 11am until 10pm from Monday through Thursday and until 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Their Sunday hours are noon to 9pm. The stand-out quality here is the staff: you won't find better service from nicer people anywhere. We love the street tacos here. You get three, and they all come with fresh cilantro, lime, and hot sauce. Choose from chicken, steak, al pastor, or carnitas, and for a small upcharge, you can get fish or shrimp instead. The regular tacos come with rice or beans, and the fish and shrimp ones come with rice, lettuce, cheese, and pico de gallo. If you drive 14.2 miles to Heath, you can slide down the slope in John C. Gellar Park at 580 Cynthia Street. A line of trees down the hill creates two areas ideal for sledding. If you're ready to get outside for fun activities, there's plenty to do in Pataskala, OH. Check out these five great spots for outdoor activities in town. Foundation Park If you want to spend an afternoon outdoors, load the family in your roomy Mahogany Red Metallic Chevy Trailblazer and head over to Foundation Park. In the Trailblazer, you have plenty of room to spread out with space for all your gear. Foundation Park is the city's largest park, and there's plenty to do there. Spanning over 78 acres, including 22 acres of woodlands, Foundation Park is great for an afternoon of fun, especially if you like sports. The park has soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a basketball court. Home of the Pataskala youth soccer program, the park is a good location for local club teams of all kinds. If you're a walker, the park has walking trails, including a 1-mile woodland trail and a 1.4-mile perimeter trail. There are also two playgrounds for the kids and a fishing pond. If you'd like to cook out, there are three shelter houses with electrical service, one of which has a grill available. more Liberty Park Liberty Park is the perfect place for a relaxing afternoon. Located in Pataskala, this 8-acre park is located in the Taylor Glen subdivision on the west side of Taylor Road. With a 2-acre fishing pond and play area in the woods, Liberty Park is small but has everything you need for outdoor fun with the family. The park has open space, a patio, a grill, and a paved walking path. Liberty Park offers many activities, including swimming, fishing, hiking, and biking. Recently dead tree branches were removed, and trails through the woods were widened. The park also added bird boxes to attract more bluebirds! Swim Lessons The Pataskala Pool is a great place to cool off. It has many activities, such as swimming lessons and pool parties. The pool is located at 550 Township Rd, close to home for many residents of Pataskala. Swim lessons are available for children preschool age and up! The swim classes focus on water safety, basic swimming skills, and treading competitions for children ready for more advanced training. Freedom Park Located at Havens Corner and Taylor Road, Freedom Park has an open field, picnic areas, and playground equipment. At Freedom Park, you'll find a shelter house and grills so that you can make a picnic lunch or dinner with your friends and family. If you want to stay active while enjoying nature, head to the fitness station at Freedom Park. The park also has multi-use playing fields and a multi-use walking path on Taylor Road.
